Gexa Energy has served Texas homes since 2001 with a range of plan options.
Managing your account is simple with the Gexa Energy mobile app and Gexa MyAccount. You can track energy usage, view account details, make payments, and stay connected to your service anytime.
Eligible new residential customers can also take advantage of Gexa Energy's happiness guarantee program1. If you need assistance, our customer support team is ready to help.
Instead of being assigned to your utility (Oncor) as your electricity provider, you can choose your retail electric provider (REP), such as Gexa Energy to compare available options and choose a plan that aligns with your household's energy needs.
West Texas weather often plays a major role in household electricity use. Extended periods of summer heat can increase cooling demand, while factors such as home size, insulation levels, appliance usage, and occupancy can also influence monthly consumption.

Gexa Energy offers several types of electricity plans in Andrews. Each plan structure is designed to accommodate different usage habits, energy preferences, and budgets.
Fixed-rate electricity plans offer stable energy charges2 throughout your contract term to make monthly energy costs more predictable. This plan type is a common choice for Andrews residents who want consistency and simplified budgeting.
Usage credit plans give customers a bill credit, such as $50, when their monthly electricity consumption reaches a specified threshold, like 1,000 kWh. These plans often benefit households with relatively consistent usage patterns that regularly meet the required usage level, but it’s important to understand that bill credits do not apply unless the kWh threshold is met or exceeded.
Free electricity plans include designated periods when electricity usage is not billed at the standard energy charge. Gexa’s plan is designed around specific weekend hours. These plans can be a strong choice for Andrews residents who can consistently shift a larger portion of their usage into those periods. Keep in mind that energy charges outside the promotional period may be higher.
Some Gexa Energy plans include smart thermostats and energy optimization features that provide greater visibility into household energy usage. Through the Gexa Energy mobile app and Gexa MyAccount, customers can monitor usage trends, adjust settings, and manage their home's energy activity more efficiently.
Andrews homes equipped with solar panels may benefit from solar buyback plans that provide credits for eligible excess electricity sent back to the grid. These plans can help homeowners maximize the value of their solar investment while managing ongoing energy spending.
Gexa Energy’s EV charging plans are for electric vehicle owners who primarily charge at home overnight. They offer an energy charge credit when you charge your car during overnight hours. This may make home EV charging more cost-effective, depending on your charging habits and plan terms.
A variable-price plan has an energy charge that may change from month to month based on electricity market conditions and other factors determined by your REP. These plans generally offer flexibility but may result in less predictable monthly electricity bills.
Flat rate plans are designed to provide more consistent monthly energy charges despite seasonal fluctuations in usage. These plans can be attractive for smaller households with relatively predictable usage habits seeking a steadier billing experience throughout the year because staying within the included usage level helps keep your monthly energy costs more stable.
Understanding how electricity service works can make it easier to compare Andrews electricity rates and plans.
In Andrews, you can choose a REP to supply electricity and manage your account. The local TDU, Oncor Electric Delivery, is responsible for maintaining power lines, delivering electricity, and responding to outages.
While your REP manages billing and plan selection, the TDU operates and maintains the infrastructure that delivers electricity to your home. Note that TDU delivery charges are regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and passed through to customers without markup.
The main factors that impact electricity bills in Andrews, Texas are:
Weather and seasonal demand: Hot West Texas summers often increase electricity usage as air conditioning systems run more frequently. Energy needs may also change throughout the year based on weather conditions and household routines.
Home size and energy habits: Larger homes typically use more electricity than smaller homes. Daily habits, appliance usage, occupancy levels, home offices, workshops, and electric vehicle charging can all affect overall consumption.
Plan structure and pricing: The electricity plan you choose plays an important role in how your energy charges are calculated. Features such as fixed-rate pricing, bill credits, Free Electricity periods, and other plan benefits can influence your monthly costs.
TDU delivery charges: In addition to energy charges, your bill includes TDU delivery charges. These regulated charges help cover the cost of maintaining and operating the local electric grid.
Think about how your household uses electricity throughout the year and your home’s characteristics, including:
Home size: Larger homes typically use more electricity for cooling, lighting, and everyday appliances than smaller homes or apartments.
Cooling and heating: Air conditioning often accounts for a significant portion of electricity usage during Andrews' hot summers. Heating needs can vary depending on your home's setup.
Number of occupants: More people in the home generally means greater electricity usage from electronics, lighting, laundry, and appliances.
High-energy features: Electric vehicles, workshops, pools, hot tubs, and additional refrigerators or freezers can increase monthly electricity consumption.
Looking beyond the advertised rate can provide a more complete picture of how a plan works. Contract terms, bill credits, free electricity periods, smart thermostat features, and other plan benefits can all influence your overall experience.
Review each plan's Electricity Facts Label (EFL) to understand pricing details, eligibility requirements, and how charges are calculated. This can help you compare plans based on your actual usage needs rather than the rate alone.
Local power outages can be reported to Andrews’ Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU), Oncor Electric Delivery. You can do so by calling 888-313-4747, texting ‘OUT’ to 66267, or using their online outage reporting system.
