Beeville residents have the ability to choose their retail electric provider (REP) and electricity plan through Texas’ deregulated energy market. This gives households more flexibility to compare plan structures and select an option that aligns with their energy usage habits.
Look beyond an electricity plan’s advertised rate and use your past average electricity usage to compare Gexa Energy offerings more effectively.

Gexa Energy offers a range of electricity plans in Beeville designed to fit different homes, lifestyles, and energy usage patterns, including:
Fixed-rate electricity plans provide stable energy charges3 throughout your contract term, which can help make monthly energy costs more predictable. These plans are often a good fit for households that prefer consistency and want to avoid changes tied to market conditions.
Usage credit plans provide a bill credit when your monthly electricity usage reaches or exceeds a specific threshold, such as 1,000 kWh (varies by plan). These plans can work well for households with consistently moderate to high energy usage. If your home doesn’t reach the required usage, your effective electricity rate will be higher.
Free electricity plans are structured around specific periods when energy charges are free or reduced, such as weekends or overnight hours. Energy charges outside of those designated windows are often higher. Customers may still be responsible for paying other fees during free usage windows. Households that can shift more of their energy usage to free or reduced-cost timeframes often benefit the most from these plans. If you fail to shift your usage, you may end up paying more at the end of the month.
Some Gexa Energy plans include smart thermostat features and energy management tools that help you monitor and adjust your home’s energy usage. Through the Gexa Energy mobile app and Gexa MyAccount, Beeville customers can track usage trends, manage account details, and stay informed about their daily energy habits.
Homes with solar panels may benefit from solar buyback plans, which provide bill credits for eligible excess electricity sent back to the electric grid. These plans may help eligible solar customers offset a portion of their energy charges over time. Systems with lower outputs may not benefit as much.
Electric vehicle charging plans are designed for households that primarily charge at home overnight. These plans give you an energy‑charge credit when you plug in and charge your vehicle during overnight hours.
Variable-price plans offer flexibility without a long-term contract, but energy charges may change each month based on market conditions. These plans are generally better suited for short-term situations or customers who prioritize flexibility over predictable pricing.
Flat rate plans include a consistent monthly energy charge when electricity usage stays within a set range. If usage exceeds that amount, additional energy charges may apply. These plans can work well for smaller households or homes with steady monthly usage patterns.
Understanding how electricity service works in Beeville can make it easier to compare plans and manage your monthly energy costs. Your total electricity charges are influenced by your energy usage, the type of plan you choose, and the cost to deliver electricity to your home.
In Beeville, you can choose your retail electric provider (REP), such as Gexa Energy, to supply your electricity and manage your account. The TDU responsible for the area—AEP Texas—handles power delivery, maintains grid infrastructure, and responds to outages. TDUs are assigned by location, not chosen by customers.
AEP Texas (and every other TDU in Texas) charges every customer in its service area a delivery fee, regardless of their REP. This fee is regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and appears separately within your electricity charges. It is charged without markup.
Beeville electricity rates are influenced by:
Energy usage: AC consumes a lot of electricity in Beeville, especially during the summer. Your thermostat settings, appliance use, and time spent at home can all impact your overall usage.
Home size and insulation: Larger homes typically use more electricity, while smaller homes often use less. Homes with older insulation or air leaks may require more energy usage to stay comfortable.
Seasonal changes: Summer often brings higher usage due to cooling needs, but your costs may increase in winter as well if your home uses electric heating.
Plan structure: Fixed-rate plans offer more consistent energy charges over time, while variable-price plans can change month to month. Some plans also include features like free electricity periods that can influence how and when you use energy.
TDU delivery charges: Beeville electricity bills include delivery fees from AEP Texas that are regulated, passed through without markup, and apply no matter which REP or plan you choose.
Every home in Beeville uses electricity differently. Looking at your household’s typical energy habits can help narrow down which plan structures may work best for you. When shopping, consider factors such as:
Home size: Smaller homes and apartments often use less electricity than larger single-family homes.
Cooling and heating: Air conditioning can significantly impact summer electricity usage in South Texas. Heating usage may vary depending on your home’s setup.
Number of occupants: More people in the home usually means increased usage of lighting, electronics, appliances, and laundry.
High-energy features: Electric vehicles, pools, workshops, and additional refrigerators or freezers can increase monthly energy usage.
Electricity rates are important, but it’s also helpful to look at how a plan actually works. Comparing plan features alongside pricing can give you a better understanding of how your monthly energy charges may vary. Pay attention to:
Your average monthly usage: Some advertised rates are tied to specific usage levels, so reviewing your typical kilowatt-hour usage can help you compare plans more accurately.
Contract length: Fixed-rate plans can provide more predictable energy charges, while shorter-term or variable-price plans offer more flexibility.
Plan flexibility: Think about how long you expect to stay in your current home, and if flexibility may matter later.
Included features and credits: Some plans include bill credits, Free Electricity periods, Smart Thermostats, or other account management tools that may impact overall energy costs.
Before enrolling, review the EFL to understand how the plan is structured, including energy charges, fees, and other important terms.
