The Beacon
Through our partnership with The Beacon, we prepare and serve meals, organize donation drives, and provide essential items to hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness, supporting their journey toward stable housing.
The Beacon meets the daily needs of hundreds of men and women experiencing homelessness and connects them to next-step services like housing case management, program referrals, civil legal aid, and more, providing a pathway out of homelessness and into housing. Every meal served, every item donated, and every hour volunteered represents our belief that every Texan deserves compassion, support, and the opportunity for a fresh start.
Through our partnership with The Beacon, we're committed to supporting Houston's vulnerable community members with dignity and care. Gexa volunteers have spent multiple days at the Ardel Ray Day Center preparing and serving hot meals, distributed toiletries and essentials, and assisting with washing and folding laundry. Each visit reminds us that everyone deserves compassion and a helping hand. Beyond our hands-on volunteer work, our team has organized office-wide collection drives, gathering hotel toiletries, clothing donations, toothbrushes, and other essential items that we deliver directly to The Beacon to support their mission. We also actively engage in sorting and organizing donations to ensure efficient distribution, and we work closely with The Beacon staff to identify evolving community needs. It's meaningful work that brings our team together while making a real difference.
