GEXA ENERGY LOWERS RATES FOR MONTH-TO-MONTH AND ONE-YEAR ELECTRICITY SERVICE IN HOUSTON AND DALLAS
Houston, TX - April 27, 2007
Gexa Energy has lowered its month-to-month and one-year plans for residential electricity service in Houston and Dallas.
In Houston, Gexa Energy's new month-to-month pricing is down 21 percent to 11.3 cents per kilowatt-hour. Its one-year rate in Houston is down three percent to 12.5 cents per kilowatt-hour.
The company's new month-to-month rate in Dallas is down 24 percent to 10.3 cents per kilowatt-hour. Its 12-month, fixed-rate plan in Dallas is down six percent to 11.8 cents per kilowatt-hour.
According to powertochoose.org as of April 20, 2007, Reliant Energy’s "One Rate Flex" plan is 15.4 cents per kilowatt-hour (26% higher than Gexa Energy's comparative month-to- month Power Plan rate). TXU's monthly "Energy PowerStart" plan is priced at 14.1 cents per kilowatt-hour (26% higher than Gexa’s 12-month fixed, Gexa Guaranteed rate).
"Deregulation is about giving customers a choice, and this is another opportunity for those who have been paying some of the highest rates with Reliant and TXU to pay some of the lowest," says Gexa Energy Vice President of Sales & Marketing Les Owen.
Customers who sign up for Gexa Energy’s new month-to-month Partner Plan also earn 2,000 American Airlines AAdvantage or Continental OnePass bonus miles for signing up plus two miles for every dollar spent on electricity each month with Gexa.
