MARK IANNI NAMED PRESIDENT OF GEXA ENERGY
Houston, TX - March 15, 2007

Mark Ianni has been named President of Houston-based Gexa Energy, a retail electric provider servicing homeowners and businesses throughout Texas.

Prior to joining Gexa Energy, Ianni served as President of FPL FibertNet, FPL's telecommunication fiber optic subsidiary. Ianni came to FPL from General Electric and GE Capital where he held key leadership roles.

Gexa Energy (PUCT # 10027), the retail subsidiary of FPL Energy, is one of several retail electric providers servicing homeowners and business throughout Texas. Having entered the Texas deregulated energy market in 2002, Gexa Energy is one of the fastest-growing retail electricity providers in the nation, serving close to 200,000 customers in Texas alone.

While Gexa has operated primarily in Texas' deregulated electricity markets since the company's inception, it recently announced plans to expand service to commercial and industrial customers in Massachusetts, Maine, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey and a number of other states in the northeast.

FPL Energy owns and operates over 4,300 MW of electric generation in Texas, with more wind generation than any other retail electric provider in Texas.
