Gexa Energy Customers Eligible for Assistance Through LITE-UP Texas Program
HOUSTON, TX - July 28, 2009

Gexa Energy customers who qualify as low-income households are eligible to have their summer electricity bills reduced as part of the company’s participation in LITE-UP Texas, a program of the Public Utility Commission of Texas designed to reduce the cost of electricity service for those in need.

The program provides discounts to eligible Gexa Energy customers through September, 2009 for those receiving assistance from Medicaid and food stamps or if the customer’s household income is at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. A family of four with a household income at or below $27,563 would qualify for the program.

“We encourage our customers to contact the LITE-UP Texas program to determine if they meet its eligibility requirements,” notes Gexa Energy’s Victor Howard, the company’s senior director, marketing & customer care. “The program is a useful tool for helping those in need during the summer months.”
