GEXA ENERGY TO SUPPLY CITY OF DALLAS WITH RENEWABLE, WIND-GENERATED POWER
Houston, TX - October 1, 2007

Gexa Energy has been awarded a portion of a renewable energy purchase agreement authorized by Dallas City Council which calls for the largest procurement of renewable energy in the history of the City of Dallas.

Beginning in 2008, Gexa Energy will supply the City with renewable wind-power from West Texas wind farms owned by subsidiaries of FPL Energy, the largest generator of wind power in Texas and the U.S. Gexa Energy is an indirect subsidiary of FPL Energy.

Forty percent of the City’s power will come from renewable energy, primarily from Texas wind power, as a result of the agreement.

The City’s 2,400 electrical accounts power water pumping stations, street lights, traffic signals and various municipal facilities including a convention center, police stations, recreation centers and libraries.

“Participation in Texas wind power is gaining momentum,” notes Collin Coker, Gexa Energy’s vice president sales & marketing. “The decision by the City of Dallas to purchase Texas wind power does wonders for maintaining this interest as well as sustaining the development of Texas wind farms for future renewable energy growth.”

Gexa Energy (PUCT #10027) is the retail subsidiary of FPL Energy. Having entered the Texas deregulated market in 2002, Gexa Energy serves close to 180,000 residential and commercial meters in the state.
